Altar Cloths for Kenya

St. Mary’s International Outreach Ministry, headed by Jim Barrett, presented Fr. William with handmade altar cloths and a check for $1,600 raised through St. Mary parishioners’ donations. The surprise gifts were presented at the conclusion of the 10:00 Mass today. Committee member Catherine Larson made the cloths for Fr. William’s home parish in Kenya, Sacred Heart of Jesus. The cloths are identical to St. Mary’s altar cloths, also made by Catherine.

Fr. William will be traveling to Kenya later this week to visit family and friends for 4 weeks. He’ll present the altar cloths to the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish community and distribute the funds as he sees fit.

All of this came as a complete surprise to Fr. William. He had no idea that the International Outreach Ministry was raising these funds. The look on his face was priceless when Vivian presented him with the check. Listen to the presentation while you look at the photos:
